Change of Plan for Former Turnham Green Terrace Bookshop Site |
||||
Owners now want offices rather than flats above ground floor unit
A revised application is being made for the building at 12 Turnham Green Terrace which has recently been demolish. It was previously the location of bookshop W4 Love Books. Permission was sought last year to redevelop the site into a shop with two floors of residential units above which was approved. The latest application, which once again is being made by Chiswick Furniture Galleries Ltd, a Salisbury based company, is now for office space on the upper levels. Chiswick Furniture Galleries, who own the building, say they wish to demolish and then rebuild the front section to harmonise with the terrace, but to bring the building up to date from a conservation and energy saving perspective. They have sought pre-application advice from planners at Hounslow Council about the change of use and some 'minor' changes to the design. If the application is refused the original plan to build flats above the unit remains valid. The barrecorre studio at the back of the shop unit would be unaffected by the development.
