Death Of Well Known Local Optician Alan Sherman

Owner of local business for many years

A well-known local optician for many years, Alan Sherman, has died, following a short illness. He was aged 69 and had retired some years ago to the country.

He was the owner of Sherman Opticians at 275 and later 267 Chiswick High Road from 1976 to 2006.

Friends described him as a great man and a kind and generous employer. He is survived by his wife Maxine and children Howard and Melissa.

His funeral was very well attended by local customers, friends and neighbours who were very saddened by his passing. He had sold the practice some years ago and was enjoying retirement when he became ill.
