Oratorio and Chamber choirs combine for a Christmas celebration
The Addison Oratorio and Chamber Choirs are to combine to celebrate Christmas at St Michael & All Angels on Saturday 9 December. As well as Carols for choirs and the audience, the programme includes 'Ave Rex', an exciting sequence of Carols that set medieval texts by the Welsh composer William Mathias, the world premiere of a new piece especially written especially for the Chamber Choir by Martin Butler, and two pieces by Master of the Queen's Music Judith Weir ( one of them also including audience participation), who is a featured composer this year. The conductor & Musical Director is David Wordsworth, with Pianist Matthew Hough and organist Edward Kemp-Luck. All that and some popular carols by Harold Darke, Hector Berlioz and Peter Cornelius, should make a memorable start to the Christmas season! On the door tickets will be £15 or £12 for concessions with under 16’s still £3.
